Marrakech Diary

WHEN THE GOING GETS TOUGH THE TOUGH GO TO MOrocco.  I DON?T KNOW HOW IT COULD BE POSSIBLE BUT THIS YEAR SEEMS TO HAVE GONE FASTER THAN ANY YEAR BEFORE AND IT WAS TIME TO MAKE A RUN FOR IT.  WITH THE END OF THE YEAR NOT NEARLY CLOSE ENOUGH IN SITE, I RECENTLY DECIDED TO TAKE OF MY CLOSEST friend Emilie Ceylan TO THE MAGICAL La Mamounia.

NOW IF YOU DON?T ALREADY KNOW ABOUT La Mamounia IT?S ABOUT TIME YOU DID.  SECRET GETAWAY TO bloggers AND actors ALIKE(Shay Mitchell was here, David Beckham spent his 40th birthday here – so the odds of meeting a celebrity is pretty good), IT?S LIKE A palatial NIRVANA in the heart of Marrakech. The hotel is like a city itself, reflects the Moroccan beauty and culture ever so nicely, that evokes 1001 arabian nights. THANKS TO THis BEAUTIFUL place with the best HOSPITALITY, MY FAVOURITE girl AND I WERE ABLE TO BRUSH OFF THE WORRIES OF THE OUTSIDE WORLD by soaking in cultural vibes and wearing gown after gown. Let’s be honest we all need to feel like princesses from time to time and this place spoiled us to bits.  WITH A BRONZIER BRONZED BOD and cultivated, MY girl AND I WERE ABLE TO RETURN TO REALITY BETTER THAN BEFORE or actually maybe not, we got quite used to the amazing service and atmosphere at the La Mamounia so getting back was a bit tough. These were some of the pictures I shot of the place, hope you enjoy them.

We booked in 2 days at La Mamounia, which I had heard such wonderful things about, but little did I expect a haven of beautiful interiors, delicious cuisine and impeccable service. It’s so hard to try and paint a picture of my stay through a blog post. I did aim to share as much as possible via Snapchat (ID: mowoblog) and Instagram, but nothing can really compare to the personal experience.

I have a few features dedicated to the hotel coming up, but for my first one I thought I’d give you a glimpse into what a typical day was like as a guest of La Mamounia.

After waking up to a delicious breakfast, I would either spend some time on our balcony or head to the spa for a full body massage followed by a quick dip in the indoor pool. It would then be a relaxing walk to the main pool area for a spot of lunch, ending the afternoon back in our suite with a cup of tea and beautiful view of the amazing garden and atlas mountains in the distance.

Emilie and I felt spoiled for choice with options for dinner, during our first night we enjoyed traditional Moroccan cuisine at Le Maroccan.

Special thanks to La Mamounia for the hospitality. (One night in an Executive Suite at La Mamounia Marrakech, from EUR1020 per room per night on a bed and breakfast basis.) More info can be found here
